This week’s top picks – Interview Preparation

3 from 1

For my last post, I wrote the article “Foolproof Job Interview Success – 4 Step Preparation Process“.  I want to share some articles I found giving more thoughts and information on the subject.

There are of course many articles out there on this subject but in the interests of summarising a key few, I’ve gathered 3 from the original 1 idea.

Preparing for an Interview from the National Careers Service

Some great fundamental information about preparing for interviews, especially if you’ve never done one before.  I particularly like the section on Interview Do’s and Don’ts.  Pay attention to those don’ts!

How to impress in a tough Job Interview from Guardian Careers

Stoke their Ego’s.  Probably one of the best pieces of advice I’ve heard in a while.  This article has some great tips on taking the ‘lead’ in an interview rather than being on the back foot.

Ten Rules for Job Interview Success from Quint Careers

I like the steps here and specifically steps 3&4 regarding researching the company thoroughly and explaining your experiences in terms of what the job requires (step 1&2 in my process).

As I said, just a few of the many ideas out there on this subject.  As always, I’d love to hear what has worked (or not worked) for you in the comments below.  Thanks for sharing.
